Genre icon Lawless, perhaps better known as Xena: Warrior Princess or Battlestar's D'Anna Biers, is shooting a small role as a neighbor of Eve's. For those who don't already know, Lawless and Bell have a longstanding relationship, dating back to the '90s when the 19-year-old Bell was the stunt double for Lawless on Xena.

"It's so f--king cool just to have her here," New Zealand native Bell says with uncontrolled excitement about her fellow Kiwi. "I feel like she's doing me a favor. ... I'm honored to have her on the set, and it just feels so comfortable having her here. Watching her today, it's so different compared to when I was 19 and a stunt double. I used to watch how she moved so that I could mimic it. I used to love watching her act, because she's highly entertaining, and the camera loves her. But it never occurred to me to learn from her craft as an actress."

The scene being shot today offers a bit of a nod to the past relationship between the Xena co-stars, Bell says. "Part of the scene is that, when I see her, there's meant to be a moment where I'm seeing myself in her reflection, and there’s just that ironic twist," she says. "For so long, I was her."

"Lucy plays Vera," Bell adds. "[She's] the nosy neighbor in my apartment block. She spies on neighbors through her little peephole. Technically, she's an ex-high-class hooker. I come home after a messy battle, and I'm shattered, and I basically pass out in the hallway. She sees it through the peephole and comes and takes me into the apartment and cleans me up and in the meantime, steals one of my bracelets and a pair of undies."

The scene has Lawless dancing in front of a mirror in a gawdy dress and feather boa. She's interrupted when two bad guys burst into her apartment with guns.

Lawless, wearing a blond Monroe-esque wig, is clearly having fun with the character. In each subsequent take, she goes a little further with the mirror dance. At one point, Etheridge can't resist bursting into laughter in the middle of a take.
